Welcome to I'm Not From London. We’re a group of Nottingham based DIY promoters. We regularly put on gigs in Nottingham and sometimes in Leeds, Sheffield and Blackpool too.
We’ve been throwing parties and gigs for a few years now and in that time we’ve booked hundreds of bands, some loud, some quiet, always different. We like to involve as many people in our events as possible and welcome performance artists, mud wrestlers, magicians, comedians, DJ's, poets, visual artists and (most commonly) pissheads. The ethos of the night is simple – fuck the attitude and have a good party!
We also run a night called Wire & Wool on the 1st Thursday of the month at the Alley cafe, and Cafe Boheme at Hotel Deux on the 3rd Thursday of the month featuring a mix of folk bands, poets, comedians and beatboxers. We also throw a mini festival every two months at The Maze called Kerblammo! where we have about 12 bands play simultaneously in 3 different rooms.
We also like to spice up our nights with something a little different. So expect the likes of stickfights to punk music, burlesque girls in custard-

 | Junk Yard has no music policy – it only books DJ’s who have a truly underground ear and the confidence and ability to create an electronic soundscape to rival anything that comes out of Berlin. The music ranges from etheral Deep House to spiralling melodic Techno. The residents – Luke Black(head honcho) Mark Cohen and Paul Sakahri all have serious credibility in Nottingham having all held residencies at every major club in the city - including Gatecrasher and Stealth. Their biogs include sharing flier space with everyone from Armin Van Burren to Terry Francis. Junk Yard’s crowd is diverse – from young students who have followed the lads from the Stealth residencies to the older more clued up crowd who used to frequent the seminal acid house club Venus. What they all have in common is a love for electronic music and a serious ability to Party. Junk Yard’s Friday nights have fast become one of the cities most popular events.
